Since we're usingauto.mirror.devuan.org, why do we need the user to choose a mirror at all? Can't we just skip this step?

because auto.mirror.devuan.org uses httpredir.debian.org for the debian mirror and that doesn't work well for some.

We will be adding CC and other mirrors that use debians CC and other mirrors to give users the ability to choose mirrors that work well for them.

Update/upgrade from auto.mirror/packages.devuan have problems on selecting best debian mirror for me in india. It takes some time or hangs or selects some nearby secondary mirrors. Here we have three good secondary mirrors which don't responce to any quary. Any scope to choose debian mirror for other than installer will help installed devuan also.
